Work Plan
[edit]I have selected this page to edit and improve for my Medicine & Wikipedia course.
Firstly, I would like to expand on the definition of oligomenorrhea and characterize normal menses. I would like to expand on the different causes of this condition including the related clinical signs and symptoms.
Additionally, I would like to add a section on laboratory analysis and imaging needed to evaluate oligomenorrhea. I would also like to differentiate between primary and secondary amenorrhea and how this can be differentiated from oligomenorrhea. I would also like to update the article image to something that is more reflective of the topic.
Lastly, I would like to add a section on treatment and long-term management of this condition. Savapedia (talk) 02:36, 23 March 2026 (UTC)

[edit]This is a great article that provides a detailed and organized overview of oligomenorrhea to the reader. I like that it includes and is structured by definition causes and related conditions.
I believe that the article would benefit from more clinical context such as particular numbers when defining normal phases of the menstrual cycle as well as mentions of variations in cycle length due to teenage years vs other conditions such as PCOS. I think the flow of the article could be improved by clearer transitions to certain topics, I noticed this especially with the mention of Turners Syndrome which would have been a little more helpful to have a clearer transition into the topic, but this is minor.
I also think this article would be more comprehensive with a management section for oligomenorrhea that covers the various lab tests ordered as well as current guidelines and how management differs across various age groups and past medical history of patients.
