May I suggest re -word - this:

Non-English education

Writing in Cherokee The Cherokee Nation instigated

To

American Indian education (or similar describing who they are as opposed to who they are not.)

Writing in Cherokee The Cherokee Nation Launched. (Or a similar word that doesn't have judgment of character connotations like the word instigated does)

Someone has added southwestern as a partial region.

The Great Plains are not a cultural region
