[edit]I have only noticed this article because it has been linked to in a couple of See also-sections. Never heard of it, but maybe I'm a bit out of touch with things going on in Sulsel. @Han4299: Is this really a "thing"? Austronesier (talk) 21:04, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- Okkots really occurred in South Sulawesi. Because it is influenced by the phonology of the regional language, so there is interference in pronouncing and speaking in Indonesian. But in my opinion, this is not unique, because each region has its own phonological characteristics and some are disturbed when they meet Indonesian language. - @Han4299: Oh, so basically it's just a descriptive term for regional language interference when speaking Indonesian? Like nativization (-n > -ng) or hypercorretion with "wrong" result (e.g. hit-and-miss replacement of -ʔ with -p/-t/-k). I thought it was some kind of active word play :)
- In this case, it is really doubtful if it's notable enough for a separate article because such things indeed happen all over Indonesia. –Austronesier (talk) 18:18, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
