Move

[edit]

I request a move of this page

  • Ohakune > Ōhakune

because common usage has macrons and WP:COMMONNAME CityOfSails2 (talk) 09:43, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

A move wouldn't be necessary, right? We can just change the article to include the macron. Is the macron used in the original spelling? Everything comes up without it...Nauseous Man (talk) 11:22, 24 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
We add macrons to names in New Zealand if that's the official spelling. Ohakune doesn't have an official spelling at present. See https://gazetteer.linz.govt.nz/place/33007.-gadfium 02:48, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Bungy jumping

[edit]

I removed a statement that said AJ Hackett had the world's first commercial bungy jumping operation at Hapuawhenua Viaduct. He did a tandem skydive from there, but the first commercial operation was in Queenstown. Wainuiomartian (talk) 16:51, 26 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ruapehu Bulletin

[edit]

@Schwede66 Could you please have a look at the reverted edit to this page. There seem to be two issues: (1) the edit by the new user Ruapehu Bulletin seems to be in good faith, but the user is probably not aware of Conflict of Interest policy, and that the username does not comply with WP:USERNAME (this presumably needs admin action), (2) the revert by User:GoldMiner24 appears to be "too hasty" because there is indeed a Ruapehu Bulletin that is part of the media serving the Ohakune area. I also think it was wrong to tag the edit as vandalism._Marshelec (talk) 02:28, 15 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Apologies, I believe you are correct. I reverted it hastily with conflict of interest and WP:USERNAME in mind. GoldMiner24 Talk 02:38, 15 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I’m glad it’s been resolved. Schwede66 00:39, 18 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
