incoherence.

[edit]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the first sentence in this article doesn't really make sense. Cuniform Grocery List (talk) 18:59, 22 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Applying

[edit]

Do authors apply for an ID for themselves or are they registered by somebody else? Is it intended also for authors who can't apply for themselves, such as say, Isaac Newton or Marie Curie? -- Error (talk) 17:48, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

I see that Isaac Newton has one ORCID https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6137-1097 but I don't see one in Curie's article. --Error (talk) 17:51, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
The Newton ID was bogus. Removed. Only living people may register for an ORCID iD, and as the scheme was launched in 2012, no-one who died before than can have one. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:44, 5 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Can you add that with a reference to the article?
