Need to re-work article to mention subsequent OPS-SAT satellites
[edit]In learning about OPS-SAT today, I noted that this page covers the original "OPS-SAT" cube sat that was in space from December 2019 - May 2024. However, the ESA now seems to be using "OPS-SAT" to refer to the overall program for cube sats. The web site now refers to the original cube sat as "OPS-SAT-1" and mentions:
- OPS-SAT PRETTY - It was launched as "PRETTY" in October 2023 and became part of the OPS-SAT project in June 2025.
- OPS-SAT VOLT - A satellite planned for launch in Q4 2026.
- OPS-SAT ORIOLE - A satellite planned for launch in Q1 2027.
I could see a couple of approaches:
- adjust this article to be about the overall program, and then list the various satellites here
- create a new article about OPS-SAT-1 and move most of the text here onto that page; and then re-purpose this page to talk about the overall program. There could then be articles created for the subsequent OPS-SAT satellites when they are launched.
