I disagree.
If you ask OPC Foundation, then they will tell you that the new translation for OPC is not "OLE for process control", but "Openness Productivity Connectivity".
OLE is COM-based (Platform dependent and Microsoft specific). Therefore deprecated as a term with OPC UA (unified architecture) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.139.24.170 (talk) 12:08, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
