- I can't tell w/o research whether DS wanted the "dots in corners, lines along edges" description i see, or to know some exact codes. But one size of dot, and one length of line suffices to cover 2**6 or 64 characters, i.e. pretty plausible for coming up with 23 "naturalistic" representations of letters and 3 arbitrary ones that have to be pretty much memorized. That's enuf to satisfy me that i'd reproduce something close to his exact scheme if i created my own, and i wouldn't put much more value on knowing how close i'd come to his.

Writing 1/4 vs. .25
[edit] I commented on the edit where i made that change by saying "25 times the precision". An error of +/- 1/8" = an error of +/-.125", and (since 5x.25 =1.25, duh) indeed +/-.005 is 25 times that precision. But i needed to see that writ down to be confident in it.[blush]
