I've listed this article for peer review because I would like to get it to featured article status, but I am unsure about the structure, tone, flow, content, or other aspects. I’d really appreciate any feedback on the article as a whole, Thanks, Lililolol (talk) 20:20, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
Comments from Z1720
[edit]- I added a citation needed tag to the article.
- The "Theme" section is really confusing. Is this the theme of the song? What is this information telling me? The quote seems to be a generic statement from a pop artist about wanting to expose everything about themselves in the song, without going into specifics. I think this needs to be expanded upon.
- The second paragraph of "Background and release" has a quote that is not necessary for the reader to understand the prose, and can be summarised more effectively.
- The paragraph in "Reception" is too long and should be multiple paragraphs.
- Reception section falls into the "X says Y" pattern: see WP:RECEPTION on how to avoid this: most of the quotes are probably not necessary.
- Commercial performance: Check WP:CHARTS to see if the song was on any country's charts.
- "Synopsis and reception": The paragraphs are too large and should be split. I recommend 4-6 sentence per paragraph.
- "Sportskeeda" is not considered a reliable source and should probably be removed.
Those are my thoughts. Z1720 (talk) 05:17, 10 August 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! I'd be happy to take a look at this article. Feel free to push back on any comments if they significantly change the meaning of certain parts of the article. Comments to come Elias 🦗🐜 [Chat, they chattin', they chat] 03:51, 17 August 2025 (UTC)
- Starting off with the lead...
- First paragraph: three sentences in a row that start with "
It was/is
" - Some extraneous words: first, I believe the "
musically
" in the first paragraph isn't needed? The fact the sentence is talking about the music is self-evident. In the third paragraph, the "heavily
" in "heavily inspired
" is just filler. - "
noted its themes of female empowerment, self-love, objectification and hypersexualization of women by the media and public
" This should be moved to the previous paragraph. Said paragraph would benefit from an elaboration of what "expressing one's true self
" means, which is a motherhood statement that says nothing of substance. - In what way did the critics received the production and lyricism positively? Did they find the lyrics inspirational, the production catchy, etc. ? Specify this in the lead
- Why are the sentences about the US airplay and the Billboard chart not together in the second paragraph, which discusses the song's commercial performance?
- The third paragraph's opening sentence is too long. Split it
- First paragraph: three sentences in a row that start with "
- For the background section...
- What is a title song? What is SNS? Some of the terms in this section need wikilinking or elaboration.
- I Love should be introduced sooner in the article. It's jarring to read "
revealing 'Nxde' as the lead single.
" without knowing right off the bat what project the track's from. - Is "Now FM station" and "Station 99.7" the same thing?
- Many things here that aren't necessary in my opinion:
- I have trouble understanding why "
[t]he poster is a shot of the members' heads to shoulders, highlighting their individuality with different tones of blonde hair and red lips, raising the expectations for the new song
" is necessary in comprehending the song's background. The sentence is also long, and the last phrase "raising the expectations
" isn't needed because teasers are obviously meant to raise expectations. - What is the relevance of the sketch film? Why do we need to know what happens here?
- "
unconventional and daring
" is non-neutral wording. - The quotations here seem promotional in nature; "
a historical event
" sets off red flags, for example.
- I have trouble understanding why "
- For the music and lyrics section...
- Why include the Musicstax source if the article's just going to say it misidentified the key signature?
- Many facts here are provided with zero context, and it is unclear how they are connected. Why does it matter that there is a Gentlemen Prefer Blondes reference? Why quote the last verse? What does "
tease 'bare' as true self
" even mean? Where is the critical analysis? This is just a bunch of words to me; I agree with Z1720's assessment above. - "
is described as
" by whom? - The sentence beginning with "
It features a jazzy instrumentation
" is too long. - "
deliberately
" is a filler word. - I don't understand the point of the Themes section. We have a quotation that seems to do nothing but hype up the song, and we have information that tells us the girl group members spoke in their native languages in an interview. Why?
- For the critical reception section...
- Summarizing the critical response as "positive" would require an explicit citation.
- Many of the commentary here should actually be on the previous section. Quotations here about the song's themes obscure the commentary about why critics appreciated the song. "
(G)I-dle has once again used their privilege as idols to bring awareness to the harm women endure from societal expectations
", an appraisal of the track, does not belong in the same section as "fight misconceptions and stereotypes towards women
" which is just a discussion of the lyrics. - Again, the problem of delivering information without context manifests here. How are these quotations connected? Summarize the recurring talking points; don't just drop quotations willy-nilly. I second the suggestion to read WP:RECEPTION.
- "
search function of the social media portal
" what does this mean? - The "Impact" section is highly unnecessary.
- For the commercial performance section...
- The article mentions Pop Airplay on the lead but not here. Include the information on the second paragraph.
- For the music video section...
- There is zero need to say that the music video was teased.
- Find a way to reduce the amount of quotations here, especially on the last paragraph of the Synopsis subsection.
- Why do we need to know Monroe wore Chanel perfume or read Leaves of Grass? Why do we need to know what the perfume or the book is known for?
- That concludes my set of comments for now. Overall @Lililolol, this article needs a lot of polishing, particularly with reducing quotations and clarifying the meaning of sentences. Facts are delivered without enough context; some are not necessary in understanding the article. Many sentences are hard to understand i.e. it's hard to discern the meaning that they are trying to convey. Please ping me once you have addressed all of these comments.
