[edit]Can anyone else confirm that novobiocin is not an aminoglycoside antibiotic that targets protein? The recent changes made to this article are quite dramatic in replacing the earlier content. -- Permafrost 11:20, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Structure
[edit]Within the article is the statement Novobiocin is an aromatic ether compound.
I don't see any ether groups. I see a coumarin group and an acetal group. I am hesitant to remove this statement because it has been in the article so long. Does this statement have any biochemical meaning that I am unaware of, or should it be removed? 66.166.38.18 (talk) 16:17, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- Go ahead and remove it. Describing a benzopyrone as an "aromatic ether" is inaccurate. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 16:45, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
