Bif Naked Cover Version

Not sure if this is noteworhty or not, but her cover was released as a single here in Canada and it had James Hetfield vocals also. I don't know if this was put together electronically or whether Hetfield actually recorded it with her (the album version is just Bif Naked). Ballad?

Metallica had ballads on their albums before, but I think it should be specified that this was a "love ballad" or at least a more typical one, as Metallica's ballads before this dealt with far more serious issues than "missing your girlfriend" (Sanitarium was about insanity, Fade to Black was about suicide, and One was based on the novel Johnny Got His Gun). So, the issue wasn't so much the inclusion of a ballad as much as it was the inclusion of what could be perceived as a "love song". Moonlight Sonata and Nothing Else Matters

Does anyone else think that this song has similarities to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata? I'm not saying that Nothing Else Matters has anything to do with the Moonlight Sonata but I think there is the same "catch"... --Insist 13:49, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

The minuet at the beginnigs of the second movement (labelled "Allegretto" in the score) is indeed in 3/4. However, that's about the only striking similarity I can see...am I missing something? --Klaws (talk) 15:14, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

One hand but fretting the D-string?

Chart position in Germany

Why does the article only list the chart position of the song in Germany in 2010? That seems only semi relevant to me and is a fact that changes. It's also not listed for the other countries in this way. Shouldn't the highest chart position be mentioned? Hammett did not perform on this song?

Since when did Hammett not perform on this song? Is there any reliable source for it. I know the article says that it came from an interview with James Hetfield, but there is no source for that. And anybody could have just made that up and added it. Genre warring

It seems there is a debate over whether this song should be classified as "heavy metal" or "soft rock". Both genres are drastically different from one another, so it's important we agree upon one to use. I'm personally in favor of soft rock, as the source that labels the song as such is more explicit, but it seems some think "heavy metal" is more appropriate. Personally, the source that labels the song this way doesn't seem explicit to me, it calls the song a "classic metal ballad" which may imply the song is a ballad by a heavy metal band, not necessarily a heavy metal ballad in of itself. You reversed a sourced genre. That's what genre warring is. I disagreed with your reasoning for removing said genre, "remove new genre based on a source which is an e-book targeted to children written by a nobody." It's a book, and it's not self-published. Doesn't matter that it's targeted for children, a reliable source is a reliable source. What about it being an e-book makes it any less reliable? It's still a secondary source that was released by a legit publisher. Is the song really heavy metal?

The song lacks the characteristics of heavy metal yet still is labeled as “heavy metal”. However Enter Sandman which is much more heavier is also labeled as “hard rock” along with “heavy metal” or Better Than You from Reload(1997) which is also much heavier and also won the “best metal performance award” is labeled as only “hard rock” I really wonder why Küçükmuttaridmuhterizdarbeler (talk) 15:42, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
