There is a paragraph in the section about the Northern Rock Shareholder Action Group, that I find dubious:
The NRSAG committee made several failed appeals to the Government previously, but the facts were not fully known then, but it is evident now that all loans to the taxpayer have been paid in full at penal rates of interest. That means compensation to shareholders will not be a charge on taxpayers or upon the general public because it is payable out of the surplus funds, built since nationalisation in 2008, as a result of asset disposals.
This reads to me more like someone from that organisation trying to justify why they're entitled to compensation., rather than an honest attempt to describe the facts of the case. In particular, since there are no sources cited for these claims.
Unless someone finds some reliable sources (other than statements made by the Shareholder Action Group itself), I would advocate for the paragraph's removal. CryptoCopter (talk) 21:02, 12 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
