Speedy deletion of Norbert M. Samuelson

As reviewing administrator, I think the article almost certain will show notability when finished. Please add the rest as soon as possible. I put on a tag that will put off deletion for 7 days, if people respect it.DGG (talk) 22:17, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

That tag has now lapsed, but very little more has been added. I don't think that the fact that he has written five books really counts as an "indicat[ion] why its subject is important or significant", unless we are assuming that all authors are "important or significant". Two of these books were published by Cambridge University Press. I think it would be a cold day in hell, to find a reputable editor who would not find Sameulson notable. If Hrafn is merely talking in the abstract, then I suggest those comments be ignored or pushed onto a guideline discussion about WP:Notability, which, by the way, isn't even wikipedia policy. --Firefly322 (talk) 21:59, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Norbert Samuelson

• Dr. Samuelson is the Grossman Chair of Jewish Studies at Arizona State University in the Department of Religious Studies.
• He is the founder and secretary of the Academy of Jewish Philosophy.
• Dr. Samuelson's scholarship focuses on Jewish philosophy and theology.
• He has written extensively on both medieval and modern Jewish philosophy.
• In the field of religion and science he has authored two major philosophical- theological works that wrestle with the problem of creation: The First Seven Days: A Philosophical Commentary on the Creation of Genesis (1992) and Judaism and the Doctrine of Creation (1994).

WP:LINKFARM

This article is becoming more and more of a WP:LINKFARM, in that there is more space devoted to links to Google Books than to the actual body of the article (currently still a single paragraph). That's quite apart from the complete lack of third-party sourcing in the article body (strong hint: it would probably be better to state what reviews say about his work in the body, than to just list them in the ever-increasing laundry-list of 'Works'). Hi Hrafn, I agree with the current inadequate state of the article. I have also noted that Samuelson is quite an accomplished person. However, I personally never heard of him before. Thus, I am still in the stages of learning about him. My attention was drawn to the article about him because it was being considered for deletion. In my opinion that would be unfortunate.
