cell searching in WCDMA

[edit]

i do a research in cell searching in WCDMA and how the UE can synchronize with Node B and how extract the scrambling codes to start the connection. i would like to know something about this.

Power consumption

[edit]

"Power requirements on Node Bs and user equipment (UE) are much lower." This does not sound correct, as usually it is written in the news that 3G/UMTS/WCDMA (Node B) base stations run out of of battery faster because they consume more power than old GSM base stations. Also people are forcing their mobiles to 2G only to save power, because at least jumping between 2G/3G modes consumes more power, and maybe also if locked to 3G only. So is there any citations to confirm this claim in the article? --194.136.18.66 (talk) 08:09, 21 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
