NOBF4

[edit]

This article is all about the BF4- salt. This is the form that is almost universally used. Options:

  • 1) move it all to NOBF4. My recommendation.
  • 2) leave a skeleton on NO+ and with "see also"
  • 3) do nothing.

I think a move to NOBF4 is the best option. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:41, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bond order

[edit]

I'm pretty sure that the bond order of NO+ is 3, i checked with MO theory. Sameyley 14:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Sam, sorry I didn't mean to revert you. You are correct. I am preparing an SVG image with not only the bond order of 3 but also the 106 pm internuclear separation, since SVG is preferred over JPG.
NO has a bond order of 2, perhaps this is where the confusion arose.
Thanks for your edit.
