Dubious at best, fraud at worst

There is no evidence such an item has existed, let alone was written by the Hattori Hanzō. The biggest claims of such a thing are through Antony Cummins, a known fraudster. I'm from an age where an article such as this could not exist on Wikipedia, as the only sources linked are filtered through one man and those who source him, and this should not pass muster on any legitimate knowledgebase. as per more scholarly books I have read, (pierre françois Souyri : histoire des ninja, yes it's in french, and Stephen Turnbull : ninja, unmasking the myth), the earliest manuscript we have for this is dated 1731, and this book is indeed one of the three big sources we have on ninjutsu. Funnily enough, unlike bansenshûkai and shôninki, which are full on manuals and hagiographic treatises on the ancient glories of the Iga and Kôga ninja, this one is much more practical, and obviously written by a practitioner, not a would be scholar.
