Struggled to find any references which would support that the Nongombam are "one of the oldest clans". Did find one reference to "a mythical king named Ehooi Ningon" (T.C. Hodson, The Meitheis: 26, 1908). Appendix I in the same book shows that the clan are considered of the second of seven kinsmen (See Hodson 1908: 83, 2/vi)[1], but that's the only reference I could find.
