– I feel like the effort to rename the Drakengard page to Drakengard and Nier is incomplete. Nier, really, should be a primary redirect to Drakengard and Nier, to be consistent with Drakengard still being a primary redirect to that page Implicitly, Nier as a series is already considered primary topic just like how Drakengard as a series is considered PT, so we should just make it official. - Tagging @Zxcvbnm since you've been heavily involved with recent Nier-related moves ThePoggingEditor (talk) 05:06, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
- Comment Your ordering for this nomination is confusing. But I do support moving the DAB page away, or rather, the DAB page should never have been moved to primary. Nier was meant to be a primary redirect to Drakengard and Nier. That should just be a one page move though. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 05:10, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
- Did the discussion closer mess up? ThePoggingEditor (talk) 05:15, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
- Well, one of the !voters suggested putting the DAB back at the base name. I said I didn't mind it, but it's not my preferred outcome. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 05:25, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

Nier → Nier (disambiguation) – I believe that the Nier page should be a primary redirect to Drakengard and Nier, which also functions as the series page for that game series, per typical Video Game WikiProject guidelines. This could not reach agreement during the move of the video game, so I agreed for the DAB page to be moved to primary just to facilitate some sort of move. But, I would prefer to reach a final agreement on whether or not this should be done. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 17:51, 19 July 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 18:10, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

- There's a biography of a scientist and an eponymous prize listed here, so I don't think this should be decided without an assessment of long-term significance, esp. as the proposed primary topic is a relatively recent entertainment topic, so we need to assess the risk of surprising the average reader, beyond this genre of entertainment. (Oppose) --Joy (talk) 08:12, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
- Also, Google Books search for "Nier" also showed me National Institute of Economic Research (Sweden) in the first ten results, so it sounds like NIER should also be disambiguated. Most references to the game I get from general and books Google Search say "NieR: Automata", so WP:SMALLDETAILS might apply. --Joy (talk) 08:15, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
- Maybe we have NIER be a redirect to the db page instead, specifically the acronym section? The game/series of Nier is typically stylized as NieR, so there wouldn't be a conflict there. While I personally think that Nier the video game series is PT, if consensus shifts towards Nier having no PT, perhaps we make a redirect for Nier (series) to Drakengard and Nier. ThePoggingEditor (talk) 21:24, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- We can already do that, definitely. I think this would ultimately be the most helpful to readers using the internal search engine, because it will then probably expand that redirect when someone types in "nier" in there. --Joy (talk) 09:47, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
- My only contention really is the page views. The views show that Nier video games get significantly more views than the non-video game articles. It's not unheard of to have a video game or fictional character take primary topic over real life people or institutions. ThePoggingEditor (talk) 02:39, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
