Nicolás Jaar → Nicolas Jaar – Most secondary sources don't use diacritics. He uses diacritics on his website but not on other social media so I am not sure if it's proof enough. Support per nomination. Main title headers of performers' Wikipedia entries depict their stage names and, although subject's birth name appears to have been accented, his stage name, which replicates his birth name in all other aspects, does not use an accent, as confirmed by the 41 inline cites that appear at the bottom of his entry.—Roman Spinner(talk • contribs)07:50, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oppose counting how many low MOS sources exist is exactly what we don't do on en.wp unless it's that one lone specific blonde Serbian tennis player whom we do not allow to have a Serbian name. Presumably he's proud of Chilean heritagae and wants to be called Nicolás like other hispanic people. @7szz: did you do any research as to how his name is pronounced? Check a YouTube interview maybe? Oppose. WP uses diacritics when they belong there, and we take a bio subject's own preference seriously. (Also for other matters, e.g. CCH Pounder instead of C. C. H. Pounder.) The subject in this case isn't very consistent, but that's a reason to not drop the diacritic that clearly pertains, not a reason to drop it. Specific text to be added or removed: Delete "Dutch and" in the phrase "while his father has Dutch and Palestinian ancestry." in the Early Life section.
Reason for the change: Nicolas Jaar's father does not have any ancestral Dutch roots, and the source claiming so is inaccurate.
