Did you know nomination

- ... that Swiss director Nicolas Gessner first departed from comedy with a psychological thriller starring Anthony Perkins and Charles Bronson?

- Translation: “For the first time, Gessner departed from comedy with this suspenseful psychological thriller based on a novel by Jacques Robert. Psycho star Anthony Perkins and Once Upon a Time in the West star Charles Bronson give a compelling acting duel.”
- ALT1: ... that Jodie Foster walked off the set when Swiss director Nicolas Gessner called for a nude scene? Source: Verification: "Even as a child Foster displayed a striking self-possession: when she was 12 she walked off the set of the psychological thriller The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane when its director, Nicolas Gessner, called for a nude scene."

- @HerBauhaus: ALT1 is a good hook. However, I would recommend expanding the article before promotion. In particular, the article would benefit from a fuller account of Gessner's career and a complete filmography, rather than the current short list of selected films. If the intention is to retain a "Selected filmography" section, it should be explicitly described as such; alternatively, the section could be replaced with a complete, sourced filmography covering his feature films and television productions. - @Pratyk321: Thanks for the review. The section is already titled "Selected filmography" and introduced as a selection, and the article gives a sourced overview of Gessner's career. Could you clarify which specific DYK criterion you think requires further expansion before promotion? HerBauhaus · talk 07:24, 3 September 2026 (UTC)
- @HerBauhaus: Sure, Please review DYKGuidelines. Also, when executed DYKcheck the following results were returned "Article has not been created or expanded 5x or promoted to Good Article within the past 10 days (5644 days)". The suggestions I made were intended only as recommendations for expanding the article sufficiently to meet the 5× expansion requirement and potentially qualify for DYK. Pratyk321 (talk) 05:46, 4 September 2026 (UTC)
- @Pratyk321: The nomination is based on a recent 5× expansion. Before the 1 September expansion, the article had 67 words of readable prose, afterwards it had 408 words. This is about a 6× expansion. I nominated it on 2 September, so it is both long enough and timely enough under the DYK criterion. DYKcheck is not always reliable for assessing expansion eligibility. In this case it also incorrectly says, "Assuming article is at 5x now, expansion began 65 edits ago on March 22, 2011." Could you please reassess the nomination against the pre-expansion version?
