He has spoken about his intense affair with the actor Alan Bates, who was terrified of being 'outed', "I told him labels didn't matter, but that we must be who we are. But he just could not accept that. Alan was at ease as long as he pretended - and he insisted on pretending - that our relationship was not what it was, and was not disclosed to or evident to others."

Film vs television

I'm wondering why this is one giant table rather than being broken up into television roles and film roles like most other entertainment celebrities, especially since it's so long. Anyone care to take that on? Ghost writer's cat (talk) 05:43, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
