Being awarded city status is a very important event in the history of Newry and it deserves its own paragraph to highlight its importance. My edit of Newry is not "messing up the article". Another opinion would be appreciated. Devokewater (talk) 08:40, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Repaired sentence fragment in Lead. IMO not worthy of a separate paragraph in Lead. If the politics behind the act of Newry becoming a city needs more description, that could be added to the body of the article. The topic is discussed at length (and referenced) at City status in Ireland, so content from their could be copied into the Newry article, with attribution in the Edit summary.
