Renovation of the Article

[edit]

Currently the New Army only really covers the army of Yuan Shikai which is what the Beiyang army article is for this should be more about Qing military reforms following the First Sino-Japanese war. I believe this has to do with the fact that the term new army was applied broadly to armies raised post 1895 and to the Beiyang initially. I would appreciate any assistance and editing particularly around sources as as far as I am aware there is only one or 2 major sources on this topic. Hurera123 (talk) 21:35, 11 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yuan Shikai

[edit]

Shouldn't we mention that Yuan Shikai was relieved of his command of the New Army in January 1909? 98.123.38.212 (talk) 21:02, 20 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but I as the main writer of this article have not added developments post-1907 as of yet. But it is worth mentioning Yuan's removal but without the addition of post-1907 content it will seem out of place if you can fit it in however that is ok. Hurera123 (talk) 12:31, 21 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
