Was he the General Neville Chamberlain who lost an arm?

[edit]

In the memoirs of Charles Darwin's grandchild Gwen Raverat, Period Piece, she recalls from among people she met in youth a general named Neville Chamberlain who had served in India and lost an arm. I have tried checking also the wiki article on his nephew, Colonel Neville Chamberlain (police officer) who later became Inspector-General of the Royal Irish Constabulary. Neither article mentions them losing an arm although in the course of their service careers both were severely wounded.Cloptonson (talk) 15:05, 27 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
