Should this page exist?

Is this really an article? Nevendon is no longer a village. It's original church exists, while Nevendon Hall is a 19th century building, but it is now regarded as part of Pitsea by Basildon Council, and is mainly an industrial and retail estate with a few 1930s bungalows and two 1990s housing estates. Should this not be linked back to Basildon or Pitsea, with the article merged there? Davidstewartharvey (talk) 05:37, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

@Davidstewartharvey: Nevendon is still today classified as a settlement by the OS even though it is today not well defined. Anyway even if the settlement (and parish) didn't exist anymore then per WP:DEFUNCT there should still be a page on it. Do you think it would today be better described as an "area" namely "Nevendon or Newendon is an area in the Basildon district"? Crouch, Swale (talk) 11:24, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

@Crouch, Swale Nevendon for locals is a junction on the A127 - technically it may exist on a map but most locals dont use the name. Even the local ward is Burnt Mills not Nevendon. Most locals don't even know St Peter's is there, as its hidden off the entrance to Sainsbury's. If the article was to stay it should be reworded as per Category:Nevendon, as its not a village.
