Lead Image Implemented!

Molecular illustration of a glutamatergic synapse, showing presynaptic vesicles containing glutamate (pink) and key membrane proteins involved in neuronal signalling. The structures are based on experimentally determined data from the Protein Data Bank, including voltage-gated ion channels, receptors, and transporters. Potassium (magenta), sodium (lime green), and calcium (cyan) ions highlight the electrochemical gradients central to neurophysics.

Hi all

The article previously had no lead image, so I added a molecular illustration of a glutamatergic synapse. It shows voltage-gated ion channels, receptors, and electrochemical gradients based on Protein Data Bank structures, providing a biophysical view of synaptic signalling that aligns well with the scope of neurophysics.

If anyone has concerns or prefers an alternative representation, I’m happy to discuss options.
