Climate????

[edit]

I live in nepean, and there isnt really much of a climate here... Its cold, and then it get's hot. We arent exactly a separate region here, we have the same climate as Ottawa, toronto, Kingston, etc... however we sometimes get more lucky than toronto, because it snows there and less here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.1.206.187 (talk) 18:56, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have to wonder if there is actually separate climate data for Nepean. Environment Canada does not appear to keep such data. They have data for Ottawa (Kanata - Orléans), and they can sometimes breakout downtown Ottawa from the airport. Unless a source can be shown for this climate data it should be removed. Climate data may be more appropriately included on the Ottawa page. djblackwood (talk) 15:01, 22 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

2006 census

[edit]

Nepean's population isn't independently reported by the Canadian Census anymore...2006 census figure is calculated by summing all of Nepean's component census tracts. Marathone 09:25, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tom Bremner of Nepean

[edit]

Just curious - how noteworthy is this person's supposed status as "statistician, GIS expert, and all around good guy"? --Samf-nz (talk) 08:37, 16 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Education

[edit]

I've just redesigned the Education section, updating the list to include all current schools listed in the Ottawa-Carleton School Board and Catholic School Board's respective directories. Some schools may have been wrongfully deleted (especially from the Catholic list) because their addresses are currently listed as Ottawa and not Nepean for whatever reason; this may require additional research. I also added a few internal Wikipedia links to schools that have their own pages, but there are probably more that could be added.

I also wonder what could be done with the closed section; I don't know if this is more up-to-date or not, but perhaps it could be better correlated to this list. In fact, these lists need to match for active schools as well, but all I've confirmed so far are the elementary schools.

And yes, I did accidentally replace the entire Nepean page with the education section - undo, undo! Oyster Flute (talk) 16:00, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Budgeting

[edit]

The article states "Nepean instituted a strict 'pay-as-you-go' budgeting scheme" - isn't this a legal requirement for Ontario municipalities? Tompw (talk) 15:46, 9 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
