Notability
[edit]Removing the notability tag -- argument below:
I believe Mehta clearly meets WP:GNG. There's significant coverage in multiple independent, reliable sources where he is the primary subject or a central actor.
The Information ran a long-form profile (Cory Weinberg, March 2024). Colossus ran another extended profile (Jeremy Stern, April 2025). The Financial Times covered him and the firm in a standalone piece. Bloomberg and Business Insider both reported on his warning portfolio companies about SVB months before the collapse, which led to roughly $1B in withdrawals ahead of the bank run.
I think this is worth emphasizing: this is independent reporting on a specific individual's judgment call and its real-world consequences, not routine venture capital deal coverage. The San Francisco Chronicle and The Real Deal both covered the Fillmore Street property purchases independently, generating multiple articles about his actions and the neighborhood response. He's been on the Midas List every year since 2022, as high as 9th.
I'll grant that a couple of the current sources (Harker magazine, the Issuu link) aren't independent. But remove them and you're still left with seven or eight independent outlets providing non-trivial coverage. That's more than sufficient.
I'd also raise WP:CONSISTENCY. Browse the Category:Venture capitalists category and you'll find plenty of articles on people with materially thinner sourcing. This is among the best of them.
If the concern is really about article quality rather than notability, I'm happy to discuss ways to improve sourcing or prose. But I think the underlying notability question is pretty clearly answered by what's already cited. Perfect Proposal (talk) 16:10, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
