Request to update outdated article

Hello, I am Neil Anderson, the subject of this article. The current page is out of date and incomplete.

I have drafted a proposed new version in my sandbox here: User:Detox22/sandbox

The draft is neutrally written, fully referenced, and includes ISBNs for my books. I would be very grateful if an independent editor could review it and consider replacing the current version.

Hello! I'm having a look now. I've added the image and am looking at the rest. Some of the updated career stuff has already been added to the lede Cmrc23 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ 11:05, 3 October 2025 (UTC)

Okay so I've added some content from the draft (the "dirty stop outs" section), moved some stuff from the lede section to a new career section, and done some other bits and bobs. The content already on the article does seem a bit extraneous though, so I added a "resume-like" template as that seemed most appropriate. I'm just now realising I forgot to do the ISBN but I'm not entirely certain if that's important Cmrc23 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ 11:25, 3 October 2025 (UTC)

Not commenting on the suggestions themselves, but it does seem that you've made a lot of edits to this article in the past (that is the bulk of edits from mid-2011 to mid-2015). As far as I can see this has been mostly adding books as well as removal of some content (which fwiw was mostly positive, eg , , ). That said, it does seem a lot of this content has been removed already so it's mostly moot.

I'm not sure however that the bibliography of listed books is necessary; it seems to get into WP:DIRECTORY issues. Groot42 (talk) 14:05, 3 October 2025 (UTC)

Edit request: add reliable BBC citations

I am Neil Anderson, the subject of this article. I am making this request in line with Wikipedia’s conflict of interest guidance.

I am not proposing any new wording. To help address the BLP sourcing banner, I am requesting that citations be added to existing statements which are currently uncited.

Proposed changes:

1) In the lead section, please add citations after the existing statement that Anderson’s research on the Sheffield Blitz formed the basis of the BBC documentary.

There is nothing in any of the BBC pages you cite to support the claim that your "research on the Sheffield Blitz formed the basis of the BBC One Sheffield The Forgotten Blitz documentary." Indeed, the documentary is not mentioned on any of those pages.

The only other relevant statement in the article body is "To coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Sheffield Blitz, Anderson wrote the book Sheffield's Date With Hitler (2010)."
