Suggestions for improvement

[edit]

This article focuses on 2D navigation meshes but they should work along any number of dimensions as long as it's composed of convex polygons in that dimension. Forestrf (talk) 03:09, 15 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed addition on SE(2) navigation meshes

[edit]

I am a co-author of the cited work, so I am requesting review by an uninvolved editor.

Please add the following paragraph at the end of the “Description” section, immediately before “Creation”:

For agents with non-circular footprints, traversability may depend on orientation as well as position. An SE(2) navigation mesh represents traversable regions in heading-dependent layers, allowing path planning over both planar position and orientation.[1]
