Wet rope weight.
[edit]I believe it is not correct that the anchor rope gets heavier when wet as long as it is in the water. Certainly it is heavier when out of the water due to the additional weight of the water it holds but while in the water it is not suspending that weight. 2600:387:C:7119:0:0:0:C (talk) 00:54, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

Hawsers are not cables?
