"taking out" is a purely British usage! "taking" (a medal) would be better for U.S. people. "Taking out" in the U.S. sounds like permanently removing or damaging, as in a sporting event where an opposing player got "taken out" or as in crime gangs where somebody got "taken out," i.e. killed. Natalie Cook is neither Bristish nor American. She is Australian (like me). So shouldn't it be written the Australian way? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrismj008 (talkcontribs) 14:49, 15 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is Natalie married? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.170.239.197 (talk) 01:59, 18 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Marriage

[edit]

My understandig is that same-sex marriage is currently prohibited in Australia. Although the media reported about her wedding, I assume it was a commitment ceremony? Maybe someone with LBGT knowledge could clarify this? (Or is it common to refer to a commitment ceremony as marriage despite the difference in a legal sense?)
