Expert editing required

This article seems to have suffered multiple vandalism since its creation. Going through the history it's very difficult to determine which edits are accurate and which are not. The majority of edits have been done by IP editors who have neither left edit summaries to clarify why certain edits were made nor properly sourced their edits. I've never watch the series myself and I'm therefore unable to determine the factual accuracy of those edits. Expert help needed.EagerToddler39 (talk) 14:39, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

Episode Information

I think we need more information about the episodes, other than the names of the family members who were featured in each one, and who helped them. Who agrees?

"Called"

This article is about an American TV show. Per WP:ENGVAR, American English should be used. In the U.S., Chris and Pat do not have a "son called Jim". Rather, there son IS Jim, much as they do not live in a "city called Seattle", they live in Seattle.

I'd also started converting the "boy" and "girl" to "son" and "daughter". Saying someone "has a boy called Mike" sounds distinctly foreign to my U.S. ears. Instead, "has a son, Mike" sounds more domestic. - SummerPhD^v2.0 13:41, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

Again, this is an American TV show. On this website called Wikipedia, we use the variety of the language called English used in the country closely tied to the show. This show is produced in and for the country called America. People in the country called America, called Americans, do not say that their "son is called Bobby". Instead, they say their "son is Bobby" or refer to "their son, Bobby".

As it turns out, there is a good bit of vandalism throughout the article. While there doesn't seem to be an easy way to verify all of the kids' ages, names, etc., a few of them are listed at IMDb and other places. Additionally, there are an improbable number of twins, triplets and quaduplets. Prior to my cleanup, there were three kids who were "twins". We have family names that don't match. We have a two part episode listed in a single week. We have the Dickson family "Kirsten has an eight-year-old daughter, Jacqueynne and a seven-year-old son, Colin.", which IMDb says is "Ann and Jim, the adoptive parents of thirty-two kids", which I guess is supposed to be our Silcock family "Ann and Jim have a group of boys, who were all born with disabilities."

I have zero confidence in any of the material in the episode guide. Much of the "information" there is trivial in any case: kids' names, exact age of each child, etc. Unless there are specific objections, I will be removing all of it. FYI I've been looking at edits made by the IP address 70.44.149.2 and so far every one I looked at has needed to be reverted I see that IP edited this article and my first impression is the edits are introducing incorrect information but I'd like someone with more familiarity with the subject to confirm.--S Philbrick(Talk) 02:59, 26 October 2016 (UTC)

WP:BLPN related edits

Greetings. I did a number of edits in the course of addressing a post at BLPN by an IP claiming to be a non-notable then-minor named here. After discussion at BLPN, I have removed all names of persons who were minors, in favor of privacy and in light of no apparent encyclopedic weight. The episodes can be described amply without naming children. More BLPN

I am a member of the Tieso family referenced in this article. The article currently includes the full names of my parents, who are private, non-public individuals. Their names are only present because the episode uses our family name; they are not notable public figures in their own right, and including their full names does not add independent encyclopedic value. It effectively serves as unnecessary identification of living private individuals. Per Wikipedia’s Biographies of Living Persons and related privacy policies (including WP:BLP and the general principles against outing/non-essential identification of non-public figures), I am requesting that: The full names of my parents be removed; and Any references be rewritten in a non-identifying, descriptive way (e.g., "the parents”) sufficient to explain the episode without listing specific individuals. This would preserve the factual accuracy of the episode title and content while respecting reasonable privacy expectations for living non-public persons.
