Notability

[edit]

Nalia is about as notable as dozens of other similarily small princely states in India that we already had articles on. Moving all of these to a single article or a series of several articles would be a lengthy confusing project and involve creating hundreds of redirects. Also I have evidence of it's continual acceptance as a state (not an estate that ceased being considered a full fledged state after 1915) in official goverment documentation up to at least 1940.

So can we please just leave it ?

I don¨t want to be difficult, just trying to get back into editing after not really doing it for a while. Researching shareholder states is even more annoying because unless you find a registry, you can¨t add any more data, as the official memoranda doesn't even tell you anything but the amount of shareholders.
Sorry for the bother. Ummunmutamnag (talk) 08:26, 23 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
A good example is Varnoli Nani State which we already had an article on before I cleaned it up, expanded it and made it match the style for articles on Indian Princely states we have elsewhere. The area is the same as Nalia and it had even less of a population. Ummunmutamnag (talk) 08:33, 23 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Inclusion

[edit]

So o reiterate what I said in other articles on Gujarati Princely States:

This article is part of my series of articles on the various Princely States in Gujarat, especially the Dang states amd the Pandu Mehwas . Potentially once all the states have been covered we can decide which ones meet the criteria of merging into some sort of overarching article on the Gujarat states, and we can debate where the cutoff point is, as even before I looked into it we have had articles for years on states just as small or even smaller and less populous. Like Varnoli Nani for example. Then the original links can work as redirects, if we decide to do that. Ummunmutamnag (talk) 12:18, 28 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
