Purpose of page

I consider the purpose of this page is to provide necessary wider context to the many pages covering NZR railcars. Without the narrative provided with this page, it is very confusing to sort out the various classes and types of NZR railcar (most of which were given a "class" of "RM") from a simple alphabetical list. The "RM" designation doesn't in practice denote class, but merely indicates "railcar", and so the different types of railcar had to be given names to differentiate them.
