The photo...

The colours seem to be pretty much reversed from every other (false) colour image of the galaxy on the internet. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 23:17, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

The colours are not inverted. The image has just not been taken in the optical but in the mid-infrared at 3.6, 5.8 and 8.0µm. Med 08:23, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Makes sense, please disregard my ramblings. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 23:56, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Size ?

[edit]

Most other galaxy descriptions include a 'size' measure of diameter in light years.

How come no such measure here?

Several other sources state "150,000 light years across" which make it larger than our own Milky Way.

Or am I missing something? 2600:8800:785:9400:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 20:54, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
