Rename proposal

This article is about both the gene and the protein, and in fact, most of the material currently in the page is about the protein. Therefore it does not make sense to call this article "CARKD (gene)". Simply calling this article CARKD which denotes both the gene and the protein that the gene is named after make much more sense. • I agree, that makes sense. I think that I was going to make the page about the gene, but then it evolved into including a lot of stuff about the protein. Moving page

The current page name, CARDKD, is an outdated placeholder gene symbol (carbohydrate kinase domain containing). The uniprot recommended protein name "ATP-dependent (S)-NAD(P)H-hydrate dehydratase", is too long and is probably too close to the enzyme page: ATP-dependent NAD(P)H-hydrate dehydratase anyways (though I'm not sure that page should be separate anyways). I'll try to move the page to the new gene symbol NAXD instead. Pabnau (talk) 04:05, 9 September 2026 (UTC)
