Proposed addition: Local Branch Impact — legacy of John Howard Griffin

[edit]

Hi all, I'd like to propose adding a paragraph to the Local Branch Impact section highlighting the branch's connection to John Howard Griffin, author of Black Like Me. A case in point is his biography, written by fellow activists who had worked alongside him and figures like Martin Luther King, Dick Gregory, and Saul Alinsky in the 1970s. They set out to document the oppression Griffin witnessed, and their account is now recognized as a landmark work of anti-racist writing. His legacy endures as a testament to the branch's commitment to bearing witness to injustice and amplifying voices that challenged racial oppression.

I think this strengthens the section by tying the branch's activism to a concrete, well-documented legacy. Happy to source this further if needed — let me know your thoughts before I add it to the article. — ~~~~ Writin (talk) 15:40, 25 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Change "Predecessor: The Niagara Movement"

[edit]

I think we should merge this into history, with a link to the main article, or at the very least we should change it to something smaller, like just "Niagara Movement" GalaxyStudiosss (talk) 12:11, 22 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
