this information "Thyme - The leaves of which contain up to 40% by weight of Myrcene" is misleading it is impossible to have such concentrated myrcene in nature.

No good clinical evidence for therapeutic effects

Concerning Special:Diff/1351768867 and revert of the supposed health claims in this source, there are no good clinical publications to indicate that myrcene has any useful effect in humans. All the publications to date are from in vitro and lab animal studies, or from poorly-designed preliminary human trials, with no regulatory approval or medical guideline in any country for use of myrcene as a prescription drug.

Since 2018, myrcene is banned from use in foods by the FDA for its potential as a carcinogen.

Quoting the authors of this source: "extremely limited number of papers published on the signaling characteristics of β-myrcene, the pharmacological target(s) of this monoterpene remain elusive." Zefr (talk) 02:21, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
