MyRepublica → RepúblicaRepública –

• The name of the topic (a Nepalese newspaper) is República, not MyRepublica. MyRepublica is simply the name of the website and has no relation to anything. There _is_ a separate La República newspaper in Peru. If the names are felt to be too similar, then the page should be moved to República (Nepalese newspaper) and República turned into a dab; but I think my suggestion plus two hatnotes should be fine. — LlywelynII 05:32, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

• Oppose, though of course it was a well-motivated suggestion. I too support República (Nepalese newspaper). That gives the appropriate degree of precision, since both República (Nepal) and República (newspaper) would be misunderstand by almost all readers. Noetica^Tea? 00:27, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Republica's notability - Newspaper of record for Nepal, per NYT

This article has had a "Notability|Companies" banner since June of 2019. I would propose to remove this banner, while keeping the separate banner for excessive reliance on primary sources.

WikiProject Newspapers has published a helpful essay on determining notability for newspapers: WP:WikiProject Newspapers/Notability. I think Republica qualifies as notable under common special notability criterion number 5: "...[being] significant publications in ethnic and other non-trivial niche markets", as well as the first of the less common special criteria for newspapers: "It is referred to in one or more strong reliable sources as the newspaper of record for a certain locale, in the reputational (i.e., subjective) sense".

The New York Times International Edition has maintained a co-publishing partnership with Republica for the past 12 years, which is indicative of the reputational status of Republica in the Nepalese market. Our article covering Republica here on Wikipedia could be improved, but the reputational regard of other newspapers seems to establish at least the notability of Republica as a subject for a Wikipedia article.
