Hi, just correct a couple of errors:

The current Fort Henry was built between 1932-37 and two flanking Martello Towers were added in 1846.
Murney Tower, Cathcart Tower, Shoal Tower and Fort Frontenac were built between 1846-47 and are standalone redoubts (Murney Tower is in fact on a different river bank several miles away from Fort Henry.)

Fort Frontenac is not a Martello Tower. Fort Frontenac is a French Fort and trading post established in 1673 and captured by the British in 1758. It was replaced after the war of 1812 with the Tete-de-Pont barracks, which is what bears the current name.

Murney tower is indeed part of the defenses of Kingston, as are Cathcart and Shoal, and I think it would be an unreasonable stretch to say that their distance from the fort excludes them from being considered part of its network of defenses. It has always been my understanding that that was entirely the point of constructing them (and along such similar architectural lines).
