Swing

I agree. Most of the recorded 'swing' numbers do not agree with the numbers on the Munk Debate site at all. I can't even guess how they were calculated. Wendisway (talk) 06:35, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

It's mentioned in the article "At each debate a poll is taken of audience both before and after the debate. The winner of the debate is determined by how many people are persuaded to move from one side to the other". It is a bit confusing. Perhaps the description could be written more clearly? - SimonP (talk) 01:15, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Swing Tallies & Winners

There didn't seem to be any consistency in how previous editors calculated the swing statistic for each debate. In addition, several debates had the wrong team listed as winner. I went through the Munk Debate site and checked each debate; I corrected the winners and changed a number of the swing statistics to the official Munk swing number.

I propose that in the future, we use Munk's swing tally for all debates to keep it consistent, as they are the ones recording the votes. Wendisway (talk) 07:10, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
