Name in Bavarian

Being Bavarian myself, I have honestly never heard anybody calling München "Minna". Everybody says "Minga" or, much less common, "Micha". I am quite certain that "Minna" is not more common than "Minga", at least not for Bavarians. WMO data on Munich's (and Germany's) precipitation days

(Copied over from WP:WEATHER, this problem exists in many German city articles, but this is by far the most popular.)

It seems that there is an inconsistency with WMO data on German precipitation days. WMO data regularly shows 40-50 days more of precipitation than the DWD or Infoclimat, while using the same threshold (that'd be 1.0mm). Examples abound, but aside from this article (compare Infoclimat), Konstanz is another good example. My guess is that the WMO numbers are actually using a 0.1mm threshold and are mislabeled, or are otherwise inaccurate. Wrong use of Tfd

This city is German but has been struck by the order to remove all German place names from outside of Germany and Austria. This city is very much IN Germany 95.193.65.160 (talk) 12:29, 4 October 2024 (UTC)

Weather data

As a native "Münchner", I ask myself where does the climate data, particularly on extremes. None of the linked sources yield any actual values that are publicly accessible. This year alone, Munich recorded temperatures close to 40 °C for several days, yet the diagrams says 37,6 °C were the highest ever recorded temperature. ~2026-42717-39 (talk) 08:22, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

Thanks for raising this. If you believe the climate section is outdated or that more recent extremes have been recorded, the best approach is to add the updated information yourself. For climate data, it's important that any new values come from a reliable, published source (for example, the Deutscher Wetterdienst or another authoritative climatological publication).
