Linux howto dated

I agree. However, most of the current deployments (like school systems) can't afford the high costs of Microsoft software. So, the low-cost Multiseat options on Microsoft's operating systems are limited. ~a (user • talk • contribs) 13:37, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Misleading

Quote: "With the increasing capacity of processors and memory, computers can now perform significant numbers of tasks simultaneously without slowing down."

Here is something shocking... mainframes, minicomputers and servers have been doing this for long time - 30+ years. The statement is misleading as it gives the impression that modern technology made this possible only recently. Rilak (talk) 08:56, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Etymology please

Please can someone who was involved in this talk about how the name Zaphod came to be used for it?

Well Zaphod Beeblebrox (Cultural references) does rather cover it going the other way, pointing out that the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy character's name also refers to a computer system configured for a multi-seat, multi-head configuration. SlySven (talk) 18:58, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
