@Tacyarg, thanks for the comment. And technically yes, she is known primarly for a single essay, apart from the fact that she was a part of Savitribai Phule's school, the first female school of India. This essay is now considered as a precursor of Dalit feminist writings.
Ragarding the particular phrasing, I actually gave that a second thought. When I was reading scholars views on the essay, one of them refers her as an early enunciator of intersectionality, which in my view, suggests that she was a thinker who addressed social evils through caste and gender lens. That's why I added that phrasing.
But since you pointed this out, I also have a feeling that this description could be an overstatement, especially when we have only a single essay. So I'm going to remove/re-phrase it.
Thanks again and pls let me know if you find such more "loose" phrasing like that, though I have tried my best to keep it neutral.
