- ... that the acting prime minister of the Houthi-led government of Yemen, Muhammad Ahmed Miftah, was arrested in 2004 as he was leading prayers in the al-Rawdah Grand Mosque in Sanaa?

- Comment - The wording of the first part of that sentence could use a ce. It should read as
... that the current prime minister of the Houthi-led government of Yemen, Muhammad Ahmed Miftah, ...

@Thepharoah17: Hook is unverifiable, can you quote from the source for easy verification? I am unable to find the statement from the source that verifies this claim. The same problem exists in the article itself. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 22:30, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
- It was the wrong page number. I fixed it. Here is the quote "One well documented example is the September 2004 arrest of Muhammad Miftah, the prayer leader of Sana'a's Rawda Mosque." Thepharoah17 (talk) 23:48, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Thepharoah17: The claim is verifiable from p. 250, not 280. Please fix the article and this nomination, too. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 07:45, 30 September 2025 (UTC)

- @Thepharoah17: After further checks, this nomination does not meet WP:DYKNEW and does not meet WP:DYK5X either; and cannot be passed as such. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 08:11, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- Why not? I nominated it within 7 days of the article being written. The article was created on August 30 and I nominated it on September 6. Thepharoah17 (talk) 08:16, 30 September 2025 (UTC)

- @Thepharoah17: You did not create the article, expanded it 5x or improved it to GA. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 09:32, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Vanderwaalforces: you don’t have to create the article yourself in order to get a DYK. Thepharoah17 (talk) 09:38, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thepharaoh17 is correct. Unlike FAC, a DYK nomination can be started by anyone. It does not have to be the article creator or a major contributor. In fact, "drive-by" nominations are not uncommon and in some cases are even encouraged. What needs to be checked are the DYK criteria, but not if the nominator has any relation to the nominated article. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 09:44, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5 and Thepharoah17: The article's newness is definitely one of the criteria which is what I am checking, but pardon me, as I was using today's date instead of when it was nominated (6 September). Hook is verifiable, interesting too. Article is in good shape, no copyvio, easily meets WP:DYKCRIT. QPQ is not needed yet for Thepharoah17.

Muhammad Ahmed Miftah → Muhammad Miftah – WP:UCRN; he is much commonly known simply as Muhammad Miftah rather than his full name Muhammad Ahmed Ahmed Miftah. The Houthi state media Saba also uses Muhammad Miftah for him. Pidgin Muivah (talk) 10:53, 18 September 2026 (UTC)
