In the summer of 1994 I used this trail as a starting point for an ascent of the south summit and then the traverse over to the lower north summit. The main hiking trail made its way up to the easier north summit. My notes mentioned there was a warning sign at the trail head about there being a grizzly sow with cubs in the area. The trail began with a steep section through forest before easing up onto more open slopes. I probably only saw maybe 10 people throughout the entire day (I think it was on week day), mostly from the North summit on down. That was an enjoyable day in Kananaskis, the ridge walk from the South to North summits probably being the most memorable portion of the scramble/hike. I used Kain's Scrambles book back then but I see just now that he removed this peak from the 2016 Kindle version of the book. Neither peakfinder nor bivouac mention the trail decommission at present. It's been quite a while since I was in that area so a re-visit is in order but I'll have to forgo a trip back up this mountain. RedWolf (talk) 21:16, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
