Mount Hutt (New Zealand) → Mount Hutt – I can't see why the article is disambiguated. Schwede66 18:52, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
- Support the only article I can find that is even remotely close to this one is Mount Hutton, New South Wales and I don't think that is similar enough to require a disambiguation here. I also noticed that the page was originally at Mount Hutt, New Zealand and was moved here due to changes at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (New Zealand). That page however, mentions that no disambiguation is needed if the place name is unique and it appears to be the case for this mountain.--70.24.208.34 (talk) 01:13, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

What's the original name?

- Haminoon: The New Zealand Gazetteer (see link in Wikidata) says that "Mount Hutt" is not an official name but does not record the prior name. My edition of Place Names of New Zealand is from 2010 (I believe it's the latest edition, but I could be wrong; pp 177–178) and does say that Opuke is the Māori name (with the translation 'o' meaning 'place of' and 'puke' meaning 'hill'). 2010 was the pre-macron era and the editor, Peter Dowling, didn't use them. Hence I cannot resolve that aspect for you – sorry. Schwede66 04:21, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
