Identification of Hermon with Mount Saphon in Ugaritic myth edit request
[edit]There is a double sourced statement in this article identifying Hermon with Mount Saphon, the abode of Ba'al Hadad in Ugaritic myth. However, Ugarit scholars have identified Ugaritic Mount Saphon as Jebel Aqra in Syria (attested multiple times in Jebel Aqra article), and Hermon is usually given the attribution in later Iron Age Phoenician and Canaanite sources. Could this be clarified somehow? 47.207.16.42 (talk) 19:44, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

Mount Hermon is located in Golan heights Israel not in “occupied Golan Heights” 2607:FEA8:519F:B300:64F7:9BAF:4963:2035 (talk) 22:01, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
Not done: Golan Heights is Syrian territory occupied by Israel. It'd be incorrect to say it is located in Israel itself. Nub098765 (talk) 09:43, 2 December 2024 (UTC)

Unable to edit this article
[edit]I was going to make a small edit to this article, but was prevented from doing so because it appears to be locked from editing. Please fix this ridiculous situation! 98.123.38.212 (talk) 18:27, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
- It's not "locked from editing". Editing is restricted to accounts with the extendedconfirmed privilege. Unregistered users and accounts without the extendedconfirmed privilege can simply post an edit request on the talk page that follows the WP:EDITXY guidelines. The situation is caused by the unfortunate fact that many people make very stupid edits that blatantly violate mandatory policies to articles related in any way whatsoever to the Arab-Israeli conflict. Sean.hoyland (talk) 03:04, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, it doesn't solve the issue entirely, as edits by extendedconfirmed users like https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mount_Hermon&oldid=1307624914 demonstrate. Please can you clean it up? 2A00:1F:9484:A01:A848:DC3D:BBD9:5C02 (talk) 01:48, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
