City District

In which city district is the settlement of Mospyne? --Criticalthinker (talk) 14:39, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Actually, looking at google maps of the settlement, it seems that it's not within the municipal boundaries of Donetsk, unless that municipality has expanded to include it. It appears to be in a neighboring raion and thus probably has it's own settlement council. --Criticalthinker (talk) 14:41, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Demonym

@Dantheanimator: You are right that other articles include the demonym, but these are English forms, e.g. Kyivan for Kyiv, rather than kyyanin, kyyanka, kyyane etc. Since this city is hardly known in English, there does not exist such a demonym. Mellk (talk) 16:21, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

That is true for Kyiv but I haven't seen that much consistency amongst other city articles. Paris for example includes all the French variations (in addition to English) in its infobox. Donetsk includes the Ukrainian/Russian demonyms with the lang temps with no indication that they are standard in English (but they are still very useful to include). Reykjavík excludes demonyms. Lusaka includes only one English one. Malabo only includes the Spanish. Pondicherry just has names with no distinction between which demonym is for which language (I'm assuming the accented ones aren't English but I didn't look into it). Buenos Aires only has Spanish demonyms. I can keep going but I think this is enough to say there isn't any rule or standard how demonyms in infoboxs are supposed to be. I'm open to switching out the template with the translit one (so the emphasis is on the Ukrainian demonyms, not the English transliterations) but let me know what you think. OK, good point that there is not really any standard here. Perhaps somewhere in the body this can be explained (as the infobox generally summarizes the article). It may look confusing seeing three forms, as it is not immediately clear that there is the masculine form, feminine form etc. Mellk (talk) 16:36, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
